Happy 14th birthday, beautiful daughter!!

I wanted to do something a little different for today's birthday post. My oldest and I had fun doing this questionnaire at 10:30 last night. Nothing like laughing your butt off with one of your kids. ; ) In my humble opinion.

Happy birthday to our oldest who is such a tremendous gift to our family. I never imagined in a million years that God would give us a daughter as our first born. And even more a gift than that a daughter who has always been so beautiful inside and out.

She had just had her first make-up lesson during a mom/daughter weekend away. This is a bit much for everyday wear, but I love this picture because it reminds me of the awesome 'growing up' weekend we had and the reality is she IS growing up and it's so FUN to walk by her side through these years!

Birthday Questions:

What's your favorite movie: Grace Unplugged
   What's your favorite color: Aqua
Who are your favorite Saints: Our Lady, St. Thecla and St. Dymphna. I also really like St. Therese's sister, Pauline, but she isn't a Saint. ; )

How many years have you been Irish dancing? 10
What your favorite book: The Maze Runner Series, Harry Potter and Percy Jackson (by the way, it was Percy Jackson's birthday this past Tuesday- tidbit I learned from Sarah)
What's your favorite type of food: Anything with gravy (What can I say she's a native Texan.)
   Favorite subject: Math
   Favorite singer: Taylor Swift

Most played game (right now): Settlers of Catan
Favorite summer memory: The Franciscan University conference
   Favorite summer activity 2015:
Favorite candy: 3 Musketeers and Midnight Milky Ways
   Favorite fall activity: Volleyball
Favorite winter activity: baking cookies, making treats

Favorite place to shop: Bath and Body Works
If you were stranded on a deserted island which 3 foods would you want with you: Fried chicken and gravy, watermelon and coffee ice cream.
If you could switch places with one of your siblings for a day who would you choose? and why?
Rosie, because she's the youngest and it would be fun to see what it's like to be the youngest instead of the oldest.

Some pictures from her 13th year...

A big girl 'in age', but yet still very able to be 'young' and enjoy being a kid...

She's a movie watcher.

And she is always making something in our kitchen.

First time behind the wheel. YIKES. It won't be long...

My native Texan in a patch of Bluebonnets- the state flower.

I LOVE this picture of my bookends. It captures how we all feel about Sarah!!!
