May from the iPhone

This month has been so full. Yes, at some points too full for my liking, but you know we have 6 active kids and I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world. The summer will bring with it much relaxing and memory making. The project list is growing! I can't wait!

I'm thankful that my phone takes great pictures because I don't always remember to grab my big camera. And I'm thankful that the moments caught on my iPhone this month remind me that we DID get in some 'down time' and the little kids DID get some of their type of little kid attention. Sometimes I worry that with all the big kid activities they'll 'miss out' on the little kid life that they need right now, so I'm always striving to keep that in check. I'd say from the picture that in the midst of this busy month of May they got some good 'ole fashion play time too.

Little #6 truly looks up to her 9 year old big sister.

Bike riding with the little two. Not such babies anymore. We have to remind ourselves to stop calling them 'the babies'.

I painted #6's nails just in time for flip flop weather.

The start of this years garden! Yay! Some of the same things we grew last year and some new things to try also!

#5 is playing coach pitch this season. He's already proving he's ready to play up in the fall. He'll be playing machine pitch. He loves it!

What is spring to us without some new sidewalk chalk. My kids love this stuff. I enjoy seeing the creative play that comes from it.

#2 getting a work out in his pitching arm. He's always making us laugh.

Classic kid thing to do- blow the dandelion seeds everywhere! Make a wish little girl!

Park fun with the littles while we wait for the big girls at an activity.

Every boy needs to roll down a grassy hill.

Me and my cutie taking a 'groupie'?
The annual school pilgrimage to Emittsburg was beautiful. This statue of Our Lady is breathtaking. You don't get a good sense in this picture of how huge it is, but it towers over the whole hill it's on.

Gotta get an ice cream treat with my sweeties on a hot day.

#6 needed a break during the baccalaureate mass prior to her Aunts college graduation.

And at the same time #5 needed some batting practice? Love having our kids at our alma mater. Feels like going home.

Spring wouldn't be complete without at least one urgent care trip. He needed X-rays on his thumb before we let him play the next game. Can't really be a good catcher if your thumb is broken. Fortunately it wasn't broken. Just a 'contusion'.

Creek time!

Sharing s'mores with our cousin visiting from Texas! It was so fun to have her here for a week with my parents visiting too!

DH and I took my parents to dinner to celebrate my mom's  birthday!  Doesn't she look great!

#1 received the Sacrament of Confirmation. She's a Catholic adult now! Wow! So proud of her 8th grade year!!

#6 is getting ready for her chance to play soccer.

Our first batch of strawberries this spring! Yummy!

#3 turned 11 years old. Love this girl!

#3 and her best friend went cabin camping. I had so much fun watching #3 and her best buddies bond and thoroughly enjoy their friendships over this weekend trip.

#2's travel team won the tournament championship! Great job, SYA Mets Blue!!! What a team!!

The month ends tonight with our oldest performing in her very last Irish Dance recital. She has been with The Boyle School since she was 5 years old and she has decided to not continue with them next year because she wants to get more involved in school activities. So, we say good bye tonight to a long time 'friend'. A place where many memories have been made and lots of fun has been had through the years. Thankfully, Irish dancing is something she'll always be able to 'pick back up' and do IF she wants.
