Sunday Daybook entry 8

Outside my window...
I'm blessed to be at Starbucks this morning. Looking out the front door it looks like it'll be a beautiful day! Yeah!!

I am thankful for...
My kids, who can stay home with #1 in charge and not kill each other, get hurt, or cause any destruction! They are such good kids!

I am thinking about...
Meal for next week! And the plan for my #4's First Holy Communion next weekend! My parents are coming into town!!

In the schoolroom...
This, ladies and gentlemen, is our LAST week of school! I've worked hard all year to get to this point with the kids.  I knew with my parents coming into town that once they had a week off and visited and played with them they would NOT get back into school mode easily, so we pushed to finish THIS early! One of the beauties to homeschooling is that I can determine when we should end and I can work the schedule that way.

From the kitchen...
I've started doing a 'theme' meal each night of the week. Monday's are eat out nights because we are crazy busy and not home from 5:30-8:30pm. Tuesday's are Chicken dish night. Wednesday's are pasta night. Thursday's- leftovers. Friday's- Pizza (another busy night each week) and Saturday's we'll be using our grill a lot more now that the weather has turned into REAL spring. Sunday's are flexible depending on when we got to church and the plan for the day.

I'm working on...
Understanding each child's needs better. Each one is so different. Each child has his/her own love language. I think I've got my oldest 3 figured out, but I need to practice their love language every day. Especially my girls...are needy...and I don't want to let this time slip by without trying my hardest to love them the ways they need to be loved.

I'm reading...
Ugg! All I feel like I've been reading lately is the kids school books. Checking work. Correcting work. Editing papers. No real time to read for myself. That's ok. Educating them is my priority.

I'm praying for...
My SIL here, in VA. Her whole family has an aweful stomach bug all at once and they're supposed to go to the beach this week. Poor people!
A praise report...my SIL in TX finally had her baby! We are proud to say we have a new nephew! Caleb Joseph! A big healthy boy!!! Congratulations!!!

Exciting update...
My 4 big kids are in the Our Lady of Lourdes play with our homeschool group. My oldest is playing the part of Bernadette!

A picture thought...

Of all things! Why would a little boy decide riding down the slide ON the middle divider is a good idea!?
