Wreaths Across America

It is our priviledge to sell wreath sponsorships each year through American Heritage Girls. AHG has partnered with Wreaths Across America to provide Christmas wreaths on the graves of fallen soldiers each Christmas.  Our troop is part of this wonderful fundraiser.  Why do I call it 'wonderful'? It doesn't seem like a fundraiser at all.  It has been so rewarding to be a part of helping the girls acomplish their goals each year. And it is an honor as well.  1 We are proud to be Americans and we are proud of our US military and we feel honored to be able to show them our respect and appreciation. We have attended the actual wreath laying 'day' the past 2 years and it is really special to be there.  2 We hear some amazing stories! 3 We get to thank some of our military men and women face to face for their service. 4 Everyone has some sort of connection to our military and therefore most people want to contribute to show their appreciation. Again, it doesn't feel like a fundraiser like say 'selling cookies or wrapping paper'.

Here are some pictures from our day yesterday.  Our troop goes to Quantico National cemetery, but wreaths are laid nation wide by hundreds of thousands of proud Americans.

God bless our military men and women! Those of have served and those who are serving! Lord be near these families this Christmas season!
