St. Joseph, pray for us!

One of my favorite traditions of our Catholic faith are feast days. A feast day is a day set aside to honor and celebrate a person who once walked this very Earth, but whom the church discovered to have a more holy and beautiful soul than other faithful Catholics. Saints stories are often times full of struggle and hardship, but it's how the Saint responded and loved Our Lord throughout that is the example for us.

Today is the Feast of St. Joseph, husband of Mary and foster father of Jesus! We have dedicated 2012 to St. Joseph as a family, so today is especially important to us! Each year we will pick a different Saint to dedicate the year to. Today's one of the days in 2012 that will be marked as special and fun! I haven't told the kids yet, but we're going to cut our school work in half today. And we're going to do some celebrating!

St. Joseph, pray for us!
